1. Eligibility:

The NFL Playbook Challenge Fantasy Game (hereafter, “Promotion”) is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of registration. Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of the National Football League (hereafter, “Sponsor”), its member professional football clubs, NFL Properties LLC, NFL Ventures, L.P., NFL Ventures, Inc., NFL Productions LLC, NFL International LLC, NFL Enterprises LLC and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, wholesalers, retailers, distributors, suppliers, advertising and promotion agencies (hereafter collectively, “Released Parties”), and each such individual’s immediate family members (mother, father, sister, brother, child, husband, wife and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same households, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate or win a prize. Void where prohibited by law. All applicable federal, state and local laws apply.

2. Registration Period:

Registration for the Promotion begins at 12:00:00 p.m. (noon) Eastern Time (“ET”) on 8/10/09 and ends five (5) minutes prior to kickoff (approximately 4:10 p.m. ET) of the last NFL 2009 regular season game scheduled to take place on 1/3/10.

3. Promotion Period:

The Promotion Period begins at kickoff (approximately 8:30 p.m. ET) of the first NFL 2009 regular season game scheduled to take place on 9/10/09 and ends at the completion of the last NFL 2009 regular season game (approximately 11:59:59 p.m. ET) scheduled to take place on 1/3/10. End date is subject to change dependent upon the NFL schedule (the “Promotion Period”). The Promotion and participation in the Promotion are subject to these Official Rules. The Promotion Period will be divided into seventeen (17) weekly scoring periods during which fantasy points will be accumulated. For the purposes of this Promotion, each weekly scoring period begins at kickoff of the first game of the week (beginning on Thursday) throughout the Promotion Period and ends at the completion of the last game played on each following Monday throughout the Promotion Period (with the exception of the last weekly scoring period which ends at the completion of the last game scheduled to be played on Sunday, 1/3/10). All registrations/entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

4. To Participate:

a) Become a Registered Participant of the Promotion: Visit www.nfl.com/fantasy during the Registration Period, click on the “NFL Playbook Challenge” icon and complete and submit the Promotion registration form to obtain a User ID and Password from NFL.com. Registration is free. Once you are a registered participant of the Promotion, you may access the Promotion’s Game Page at any time during the Registration and Promotion Period by visiting www.nfl.com/fantasy, clicking on the “NFL Playbook Challenge” icon and submitting your User ID and Password. Limit one (1) registration per participant and per email address for the duration of the Registration Period. Additional registrations received from any such participant or email address thereafter will be void. The use of script, macro or any other device to automate or subvert the registration process is prohibited and all such registrations will be void. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant based on the email address submitted at the time of registration, registration will be deemed from the person named on the applicable registration form (regardless of whether that is the name of the authorized account holder of the email address from which said registration form was submitted), provided such individual is eligible according to these Official Rules.

Participants’ personally identifiable information will only be used in accordance with the National Football League Privacy Policy, as posted on http://www.nfl.com/help/privacy.

b) Pick Your Players: The object of the Promotion is to pick the NFL players who you think will perform best in their actual NFL games for each weekly scoring period. For each of the seventeen (17) weekly scoring periods (as defined above), you may pick a total of three (3) players per period: one (1) quarterback; one (1) running back; and one (1) wide receiver OR tight end from the player roster provided on the Promotion Game Page. You may select an individual player only one (1) time for the duration of the Promotion Period, regardless of how many positions such player may play. Example: if you select Eli Manning for the quarterback position in week 1, you may not select Eli Manning during any subsequent weeks. The players you select for each week will accumulate fantasy points based on the Scoring System below.

To select your players for any weekly scoring period, visit the Promotion Game Page (as directed above), which will feature a player roster, and follow the instructions provided to make your player selections by the deadline(s) outlined below. If your pick(s) is submitted by the relevant deadline outlined below, this selection will be your active player(s) for that applicable weekly scoring period during the Promotion Period.

Note: For NFL players who play more than one position, NFL.com will determine position eligibility. If you select a player for one position but then such player plays another eligible position for that applicable game (e.g. a running back plays wide receiver), his statistics at the new position will count towards your fantasy point total but he will still take up the positional slot of his initial position.

c) Player Selection Deadline: The deadline for choosing or modifying your player and position selection for each weekly scoring period is five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the applicable game in which the player(s) is playing, as determined by Sponsor.

Your last selection that is received by the applicable deadline will be used to tabulate your fantasy points. Selections cannot be modified for any game in progress or already completed. Fantasy points will not be awarded if 1.) a player selection is not made by the applicable deadline, 2.) the selected NFL player(s) does not play in the game for any reason, 3.) the selected NFL player does not perform any of the actions listed below to generate any points in a game, or 4.) a game is cancelled, postponed or rescheduled for any reason.

All selections must be accepted and acknowledged by the computer servers by the applicable deadline (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to be considered valid, timely, and eligible.

5. Scoring System:

During each weekly scoring period throughout the Promotion Period, you will earn one (1) fantasy point for each yard passed, rushed and/or received by the NFL players that you have chosen for the applicable period. If you have selected a player that is identified as a rookie on the Game Page roster you will receive two (2) fantasy points for each yard passed, rushed and/or received by such player during the applicable weekly scoring period. Examples: 1) If you selected LaDainian Tomlinson for the running back position during one (1) of the weekly scoring periods and he rushed for twenty-five (25) yards, passed for seventeen (17) yards and had fifty-one (51) receiving yards, his accumulated yardage would be ninety-three (93), earning you ninety-three (93) fantasy points for the running back position during the applicable period; 2) If you selected Matthew Stafford (a rookie) for the quarterback position during one (1) of the weekly scoring periods and he passed for one hundred and forty-five (145) yards and rushed for twenty (20) yards, his accumulated yardage would be one hundred and sixty-five (165). Since Stafford was identified as a rookie on the Game Page roster his accumulated yardage would be doubled, thereby you will have earned three hundred and thirty (330) fantasy points for the quarterback position during the applicable period. Fantasy points are not transferable and have no monetary or other value outside this Promotion.

During the following four (4) weekly scoring periods (hereafter, “Bonus Weeks”), any fantasy points that are accumulated will be doubled.

Bonus Weeks:

  1. Week 3: 9/24/09 – 9/28/09
  2. Week 8: 10/29/09 – 11/2/09
  3. Week 13: 12/3/09 – 12/7/09
  4. Week 17: 12/31/09 – 1/3/10

Using the examples above: 1) if you picked LaDainian Tomlinson during one (1) of the Bonus Weeks listed above, you will have earned one hundred and eighty-six (186) fantasy points for the running back position during the applicable weekly scoring period (rather than ninety-three (93)); 2) if you picked Stafford (a rookie) during one (1) of the Bonus Weeks listed above, you will have earned six hundred and sixty (660) fantasy points for the quarterback position during the applicable weekly scoring period (rather than three hundred and thirty (330)).

Scoring Notes

  • If a selected NFL player happens to be on a BYE week, you will receive zero points for the applicable player and such player will NOT be available to be picked at a later date.
  • If a selected NFL player happens to be injured prior to the game and does not play, you will receive zero points for the applicable player and such player will NOT be available to be picked at a later date.

6. Winner Selection:

Although it is not necessary to select players for each weekly scoring period during the Promotion Period to participate in the Promotion, it is strongly encouraged since the participant who has accumulated the most fantasy points over the course of all seventeen (17) weekly scoring periods during the Promotion Period combined will win the Grand Prize (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules).

Grand Prize: At the conclusion of the Promotion Period, the participant who accumulates, over the course of the entire Promotion Period, the highest number of fantasy points (points earned by each selected player combined), as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winner.

In the event of a tie for the Grand Prize, the total number of touchdowns made (in any form of play: thrown, rushed, received, etc.) by each tied participants’ selected players over the course of the entire Promotion Period will be added together. The tied participant whose selected players (combined) accumulated the highest number of touchdowns over the course of the Promotion Period will be determined the Grand Prize winner (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules). Example: In the event there are two (2) participants tied and assuming each played for the entire seventeen (17) weekly scoring periods during the Promotion Period and selected three (3) players for each period: If the fifty-one (51) players selected by participant “A” scored a combined total of one-hundred and fifty (150) touchdowns and the fifty-one (51) players selected by participant “B” scored a combined total of one-hundred and forty (140) touchdowns, participant “A” would be determined the winner for the applicable prize at issue, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. In the event a tie still exists, the potential winner, for the prize at issue, will be selected in a random drawing conducted by Sponsor from among all tied participants.

The tabulation of points and identification of potential winner will be conducted by Sponsor whose decisions are final and binding on these and all other matters relating to the Promotion. In the event that any regular season game is canceled, suspended (and not resumed) or preempted (and not resumed) for any reason during the Promotion Period, prizes will be awarded based on points accumulated for those games that occur as scheduled. By participating, participants agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the Sponsor, which will be final and binding in all respects.

7. Winner Notification:

The potential Grand Prize winner will be contacted on or about 1/8/10 at the email address provided on the registration form and will be required to respond to such email within five (5) days of the first attempt to contact him/her.

Additionally, potential Grand Prize winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and (where legal) Publicity Release within seven (7) days of date of issuance of notification. Non-compliance with the foregoing, with these Official Rules, Sponsor’s inability to contact the potential Grand Prize winner within a reasonable time period, potential Grand Prize winner’s failure to respond within five (5) days from Sponsor’s initial contact or return of prize notification as non-deliverable may result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarding of the prize to the next runner-up. Grand Prize winner’s guest will be required to execute a Liability and (where legal) Publicity Release prior to the issuance of travel documents. Guest must be of legal age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence (and at least 18) unless he/she is the child or legal ward of the Grand Prize winner and then such guest must be at least 16 years of age.
